Abrams May Direct Opening Episode of 'Undercovers'

In addition to executive producing Undercovers, his upcoming Warner Bros. pilot at NBC, J.J. Abrams may direct the opening episode.

The hyphenate is in talks to helm the pilot, making it the first he has directed since 2004's Lost opener, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

ABC's two-part Lost opening is often considered one of the best-directed pilots of all time. It helped launch Abrams' career into directing such theatrical films as Mission: Impossible 3 and Star Trek.

The new show has been described as a mix between Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity.

Abrams has previously directed an episode of NBC's The Office and ‘guest directed’ an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2006.
